What is the Curriculum Committee?

The committee reviews and makes recommendations to the school and faculty on all curricular matters in alignment with College policy and procedures. The Committee is responsible for reviewing curriculum proposals of all types from GGOE faculty, fully online programs proposed by faculty from schools other than GGOE, and graduate courses and programs, such as interdisciplinary programs, proposed by faculty from schools other than GGOE.

 

Who serves on the Curriculum Committee?

The Curriculum Committee consists of the Committee Chair and Committee Members.

  • Committee Chair: A committee chair will be elected by the voting members of the committee at the first meeting of the academic year. The chair must be a faculty member with full or joint appointment within GGOE. The term of service for the chair is one year.
  • Committee Members: The body of the committee is composed of between three and eight members with at least one faculty member from each academic department in the school. The members of the committee can be faculty who teach graduate courses from different departments across campus, with priority given to faculty from online graduate programs. Each department/program shall select their member(s) to serve on the committee by vote or by designation of the department chair. Terms of service shall be two years.

 

How do I submit a proposal?

Proposals must be received electronically by the Committee Chair no later than one week before the next scheduled Curriculum Committee in order to be placed on the agenda. The Dean should be copied on all submissions to the Curriculum Committee.
